At the completion of the 8 matches, the teams were locked together on 4 all.   Belmont then selected No.2 player in Shaun O’Malley and Muree selected
No.4 player in Steve Hassett to play a sudden death play-off.   This play-off lasted only 1 hole with Belmont being victorious and winning the
Division 2 Pennant.

The winning Belmont team is pictured below –

The Belmont team contained a family connection – with Father, Mark Ellison, playing No.1 and son, Hamish Ellison, playing No.8.    Good judges

Jake Riley – Success at Pacific Schools Games

One of the District’s promising Juniors, Jake Riley from Toronto CC recently attended the Pacific School Games Golf Championship held in Adelaide in
December 2017.

The NSW team finished with a gold medal in the boys 12 and under and a silver medal in the mixed event. Jake finished 2nd overall out 56
competitors throughout Australia. This was a great achievement and experience for Jake.  His handicap is in freefall – now down to GA 4.1

He also finished off the year with a Sports Award from the Hunter Primary Schools Sports Association and was subsequently selected in the Jack Newton
Junior Golf State of Origin Team to compete in Queensland in January 2018.

Well done, Jake – and we will be watching his progress closely as he moves towards a regular place in Representative teams
