This coming Sunday the NDGA A Grade District Championships will be held at Charlestown GC with tee times from 8.00am.

For the first time, this year we will be conducting a District Championship for the B and c Grades.  This will be at Horizons GC with tee times from
7.30am.

Both of these events will be Stroke events with additional prizes for Champion of Champions and Nett prizes as well.

The Finals of the 2018 B and C Grade Pennants were played on Sunday November 4.

Hawks Nest GC hosted the event – the course in excellent condition and the weather also perfect for golf.

In the B Grade event – we saw Newcastle GC prevail over Pacific Dunes 4.5 to 1.5 to win the Pennant.

Good wins at the top of the order to Chris Wratten and Hennie Du Plooy laid the foundation for Newcastle’s win.

The C Grade Pennant Final saw Pacific Dunes record a good win 4 to 2 over Horizons to win the 2018 C Grade Pennant.

Congratulations to all the Finalists.

The Semi-Finals were played at Muree GC on Sunday October 28 – in mostly drizzle and heavy mist conditions.

Muree GC was in good condition having hosted the final round of the Club Champs on Saturday and hosting the re-scheduled Muree Cup concurrent with Pennants
on Sunday.

Division 2 teams dominated and it resulted in a clean sweep of results in both B and C Grades.

B Grade saw a close win to Pacific Dunes over Waratah – the result only being achieved by the last putt on the 18th green.

The other B Grade match between Newcastle and Belmont was an even closer affair – when the 1 & 2 matches were even after 18 holes – then wins shared
after the 19th – resulting in a 3 all draw.   Chris Wratten (Newcastle) then won the 1st playoff hole from David Gates (Belmont) – to give Newcastle
the win.

The Final in B Grade will be conducted at Hawks Nest GC on Sunday Nov 4 at 11.00am between Newcastle and Pacific Dunes.

In C Grade the results were a bit more clear-cut – with good wins to Horizons over Belmont  – and Pacific Dunes over Charlestown

A decisive result for the boys north of the Hunter River.  Well done and good golfing in the Finals next week.

Details of the 2018 NDGA District Championships have been released.

The A Grade event will be hosted by Charlestown GC on Sunday November 18.

Clubs will need to supply 6 players with a GA handicap of 12.0 or less in order to fully qualify for the 2019 A Grade Pennant Series.

For the first time this year we are conducting a District Championship event for both B Grade and C Grade.  The prize pool will be similar to that
of the A Grade event.

Round 6 and the final round of the 2018 B & C Grade Pennants were held today at Charlestown GC.

Only Division 1 matches were played today to complete the preliminary rounds.

Charlestown GC was in great condition  – with the Club at the midway point in their Club Championships.

Results went pretty much to the script – with the likely Semi-Finalists confirmed early.

Round 5 of this year’s B & C Grade Pennants was played on Sunday October 14.

Toronto played host to the Division 1 matches whilst Pacific Dunes hosted Division 2

For Division 2 this was their last round with the 2 top teams, and Semi-Finalists, in both B and C Grade were not decided until the last match was concluded.

Division 2 B Grade Semi-Finalists are Newcastle with 4 wins and Pacific Dunes just pipping out Nelson Bay on a Games countback – after finishing 3
matches each

Division 2 C Grade Semi-Finalists are Pacific Dunes with 3 wins and Horizons with 2.5 wins.

Round 6 will be held on Sunday October 21 at Charlestown – for Division 1 teams only.

B and C Grade Pennants continued last weekend with Round 4 completed in rainy and soggy conditions.

Belmont GC hosted Division 1 matches and Nelson Bay hosting Division 2.

The 2018 Country Championships and District Teams event were held at Goulburn GC on the weekend of October 6, 7.

The field size was down this year with 89 players taking part – but the quality was high with 57 players having a handicap of scratch or better.

The NDGA team of 6 were – Michael Wade, David Alexander, Ben Hillard, Chris Turnbull, Josh Robards and Harry Cleare.

The NDGA team finished 8th in the District Teams event with 579 where the top 4 scores were counted.  The winners were Central Western with 553 from
2nd place Hunter River on 561 and Central Coast 7th with 577.

Our 2 Juniors performed very creditably and were the only team members to record a par or better round – with Josh Robards having a par round on Saturday
and Harry Cleare having a 1 under par round on Sunday. 

The NDGA score were –  

 30th – Michael Wade 72, 73 

37th – Josh Robards  70, 76

45th – David Alexander 73, 74

50th – Ben Hillard  72, 77 

64th – Harry Cleare  85, 69

66th – Chris Turnbull  76, 79

Round 3 of this year’s B&C Pennants was played on Sunday, September 30 in weather perfect for golf.

Division 1 matches were played at Merewether GC – with Division 2 matches taking place at Tanilba Bay.
