The Semi-Finals of the 2019 B&C Grade Pennants were held at Horizons GC on Sunday, October 27

In B Grade we saw the Division 1 Winner – Waratah pitted against the Runner-up from Division 2 – Nelson Bay.    The result was a 4 to 2
win the team from Nelson Bay

The Division 2 winner – Muree took on the Division 1 Runner up – Charlestown.   The result was again a 4 to 2 win to the team from Muree

The B Grade Finalists for 2019 are Muree and Nelson Bay

 

In C Grade – the Division 1 winner – Belmont took on Pacific Dunes.    The result was a 4 to 2 win to the boys from Belmont

The Division 2 winner – Nelson Bay was pitted against Charlestown and dominated with a clear 5 to 1 win.

The C Grade Finalists for 2019 are Belmont and Nelson Bay

Congratulations to the 8 Club teams that have made it to the Semi-Finals of the 2019 B & C Grade Pennants.

The Semi-Finals will be hosted at Horizons Golf Club on Sunday, October 27 with tee times from 10.30am

The Draw for the Semi-Finals is

B Grade

10.30 am    Waratah play Nelson Bay

10.51 am     Muree play Charlestown

 

C Grade

11.12 am    Belmont play Pacific Dunes

11.33 am    Nelson Bay play Charlestown

Round 7 of this year’s Series was held on Sunday October 20 at Charlestown GC

Charlestown was in great condition – in the middle of their Club Championships – and the weather was as good as it gets.

Only Division 1 teams were in action – with the Series for Division 2 concluding last week

In B Grade – a good win to Waratah over Belmont cemented their spot in the Semis

In C Grade – the Semi-Finalists were already decided – but a good win to Belmont against Waratah elevated them to the winners of Div 1

The 2019 B & C Grade District Championships will be held at Belmont GC on Sunday November 17

There will be a 1 tee start with tee times from 8.30am to 11.38 am.    Please indicate on the Entry Form your preference for an early or late
tee time.

There are separate Entry Forms for B Grade and C Grade.    The GA Handicap limits are – B Grade 11.3 to 18.5 – with C Grade 18.6 to 36.4

Individual entries are permitted – but the preference is for all entries to be via the Club forms. This allows Clubs to track the entries and collect Entry
fees.

The 2019 A Grade District Championship will be held on SATURDAY November 16 at Pacific Dunes.   This change to Saturday has become necessary
following a booking issue with the host Club

There will be a 2 tee start with tee times from 10.45am to 12.44pm.     Please indicate on the Entry Form should you wish an early or late tee
time.

Individual entries are permitted – but it would be more desirable to enter via the Entry Form at your Club – so the Club can track the number of players
entered to ensure qualification for Pennants and to arrange payment of entry fees.

Round 6 of the B & C Pennants was held on Sunday October 13.

Toronto Country Club hosted Division 1 – with Division 2 matches at Hawks Nest GC.

 B Grade –

Good wins to Waratah and Charlestown in Division 1 secured Charlestown’s place in the semi-finals and set up next weeks match between Waratah and Belmont
to determine the other semi-finalist

In Division 2 – a good win to Tanilba Bay  and draws to Muree and Nelson Bay over Pacific Dunes and Hawks Nest respectively determined the semi-finalists

Congratulations to Muree and Nelson Bay in making the semi-finals.

C Grade – 

In Division 1 good wins to Merewether, Waratah and Belmont determined the semi-finalist – despite have another round next week at Charlestown,   

Congratulations to Charlestown and Belmont on reaching the semi-finals for Div 1.

Division 2 series concluded this round with wins to Horizons, Pacific Dunes and Nelson Bay

Congratulations to Nelson Bay and Pacific Dunes on reaching the semi-finals in Div 2.

Round 3 of this year’s B & C Grade Pennants was held on Sunday September 22.

Waratah GC played host to Division 1 teams with Muree GC hosting Division 2.

The showers held off – but the breeze increased throughout the day 

Some close results this Round – but the leading teams are starting to seperate themselves at the halfway point in the Series

On the weekend of September 14,15 the NDGA Representative team travelled to Canberra to play the ACT-Monaro DGA team for the David Wood trophy event.

The match was played at Yowani GC in perfect weather conditions – mild temperature with little or no wind.

The format of play was for teams of 16, comprising 6 x Senior, 4 x Colts, 6 x Juniors playing Fourball matchplay on the Saturday then individual matchplay
on the Sunday.

Unfortunately the NDGA team ended up with 3 players short – 1 x Colt and 2 x Juniors – with many players unavailable for various reasons and conflicts
with Clubs conducting Club Championship finals on this weekend.

ACT-Monaro supplied 3 replacements so we managaged to play the full format.

In the Saturday Fourballs a Senior was teamed with a Junior  – and at the finish of play the NDGA team were leading by 4.5 matches to 3.5.  
 Good wins to Mick Coutman/Harry Cleare,  Chris Turnbull/Caleb Bromley, and special mention of a good win to Steve Hassett – who teamed with
a 14 marker Junior from ACT to win his match 3 & 2   In the Colts a good win to Ben Hawes/Oscar Gilson and a good Square to Brayden Brooks
who was teamed with the Colt borrowed from the ACT.

On Sunday in the Individual Matchplay – the NDGA went down by 11 to 5.    NDGA winners were Steve Hassett, Lachlan Cairns, Ben Hawes, Harry Cleare
– with Squares to Jake Riley and Caleb Bromley..

The final result was a win to the tream from ACT-Monaro DGA by 14.5 to 9.5
